NEERS currently supports two email lists through Google Groups. You do not need to have a Google account to participate.The first shown below is an unmoderated (open) groupr, where any subscriber can post a message to the server. Message posts can include job announcements, questions (e.g. "Can anyone identify this creature?"), and meeting announcements. The second group is a moderated email list managed by the Board and only used to communicate business information to members and meeting attendees. The term "moderated" indicates that messages are approved by the Secretary before being sent to the subscribers. "Unmoderated" indicates that any member can send a message to the subscribers without prior approval of the Secretary.
In Spring of 2010, the board ceased the use of snail mail for communication about upcoming meetings. This action reduces our carbon footprint and allows for timely communication with members.
Anyone can join (members and non-members). Anyone can post a message. This list is not moderated.
Appropriate postings include: job announcements, questions ("Does anyone know what this is?"), seminar and workshop announcements, meeting and conference announcements (NEERS and other organizations), notice of RFPs recently issued, etc.

For those with a Google account, sign in to Google Groups. In the box at the top, enter "NEERS." To join a group, click Join group or Apply to join group. After you've joined a group, you get a confirmation email.

Members are added to this list by the secretary. Only the NEERS Executive Committee will send mesages to this list. The NEERS secretary is the moderator for the list.
This list is used by the Executive Committee to communicate society business to members, so very few messages are sent to this list server. Subscribers to this list will receive meeting announcements.
